
CITROEN
This was one of those ‘opportunity’ briefs, whereby if you came up with an idea that they liked, then they’d make it.
Citroen are one of the key sponsors of Arsenal FC and subsequently get access to the players for promotional pieces a couple of times a year. Having been presented with ideas from their lead ad agency and not really hitting the spot, we were approached to come up with an idea to add to the mix. The brief was essentially – it’s got to have a DS3 Cabrio in it and to use the Arsenal players in some way.
Fortunately, the client loved the magic idea and after lots of negotiations, NDAs and some tears, we got to make it.
Originally, it was only supposed to be a content idea, but we suggested a social aspect by creating an online magic trick. Viewers could interact with a card trick that would allow them to enter a competition to win the actual car – an idea that, unbelievably, Citroen agreed to.
